Poughkeepsie, NY: Vassar College snapped the Ramapo College women's volleyball team 19-match win streak with a 3-1 (25-16, 25-22, 19-25, 25-17) victory today. Vassar earns their 20th win of the season and improves to 20-9 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 23-4 on the year.
Ramapo won the NJAC regular season championship and #1 seed in the upcoming NJAC women's volleyball tournament which starts on Tuesday with two opening round matches. The Roadrunners also earn a bye into the semifinals and will take on the winner of #4 Kean University and #5 Rowan University. The semifinal match will take place on Thursday, November 3rd at 7pm in the Bradley Center.
Vassar was led by Jane McLeod with 22 kills while Devan Gallagher posted 14 in the match. Gabby Miller led both teams with seven aces while Annie MacMillion posted a team high 41 assists. Sierra Tobin led the team on defense with 19 digs while Jorden Schreeder and Miller posted eight and six respectively. The team hit .208 in the match with 45 kills on 125 attempts and 19 errors.
The Roadrunners were led by
Larysa Iwaskiw who recorded 23 of Ramapo's 42 kills in the match.
Judy Errichetti recorded seven kills while
Emily Guzman added six of her own.
Samantha Main and Rachel Belmore each collected four blocks while Guzman tallied three of her own. Selmore led the team with 25 assists while
Kate Shirkey posted 11 of her own. Iwaskiw also led the team on defense with 12 digs while
Kristen Behrens and
Natalia Saavedra posted 11 and eight digs respectively.
