Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's swim team defeated NJAC rival William Paterson University tonight 146-102 at the Adele & Reuben Thomas Swimming Pool. The Roadrunners improve to 4-2 overall while they stand at 1-2 in the NJAC. The Pioneers drop to 9-4 overall, 0-2 in the conference.
The 200-yard medley relay team made up of
Peter Kellner,
Jose Alferez,
Aviad Mana and
Charlie May placed first overall with a time of 1:45.92.
Chaz Cella and
Nicholas Markwell finished 1-2 in the 1,000-yard freestyle with times of 10:45.68 and 11:09.53 respectively.
RJ Carillo placed first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.63) while
Brian Henningsen finished in second place with at time of 1:57.63. Alferez grabbed the top spot in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.97 while
Kyle Jackson won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:08.26 as he edged out Mana who placed second (2:08.91). Cella won the 100-yard freestyle (51.23) while Alferez earned another first place finish, this time in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:00.09. In the 200-yard breaststroke, Daniel Drozdewicz and Jackson went 1-2 with times of 2:33.32 and 2:36.06. Cella captured a first place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:19.60) while Henningsen placed second with a time of 5:22.64.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, January 30th when they host St. Francis College-Brooklyn at 2pm. Ramapo's senior class will be honored prior to the start of the meet.
