Box Score Purchase, NY: The Ramapo College men's soccer team, behind NJAC Rookie of the Week
Ryan Campbell, powered past SUNY Purchase 3-0 in a non-conference match-up tonight on the road. The Roadrunners improve to 3-0-1 overall with the win while the Panthers fall to 1-3.
Campbell scored what turned out to be the game winner at 31:41 on an unassisted goal, before putting his team ahead, 2-0 just under three minutes later off an assist from fellow rookie
Leandro Gonzales. The Roadrunners would jump ahead with a third goal prior to the halftime buzzer when Campbell hit the back of the net off a ball from
Justin Olaya.
The second half remained scoreless giving the Roadrunners the 3-0 shut out win. Ramapo out shot Purchase 27-11 in the game and
Ryan Sprague played the full 90 minutes for the Roadrunners in the net collecting six saves. Esteban Aguilar made 17 saves for Purchase as Ramapo held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The three goals put Campbell at six total on the year to lead Ramapo with goals and 12 points.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, September 12th when they travel to Eastern Connecticut for a 2pm non-conference match-up.
