Box Score Newark,NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team fell short, 0-1 tonight to the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers Newark in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up on the road. With the loss the Roadrunners fall to 5-4-2 overall and 0-2-1 in the conference. Rutgers Newark improves to 9-4 overall and 2-1 in the NJAC.
The lone goal of the game came in the 25th minute when Chigozie Atubi of Rutgers Newark scored his sixth goal of the year off an assist by Damjan Agaj. The goal would be the only goal in the first half of play, turning out to be the game winner, as the Scarlet Raiders held a slight advantage in shots at 14-10 on the night. Ramapo earned four corner kicks to Rutgers Newark's one and Sebastian Gostynski made three saves in goal for Rutgers Newark. Ramapo's
Ryan Sprague made five saves for the Roadrunners.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, October 3rd when they host Rowan University at 1pm at the Athletic Center on the Mahwah campus.
