#4 WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO #1 STOCKTON

Galloway, NJ: #1 Stockton University women's volleyball team defeated #4 Ramapo College tonight 3-2 (25-15, 19-25, 24-26, 25-17, 17-15) in the NJAC Semifinal. The Ospreys advance to their eighth straight NJAC Championship and improve to 29-4 overall. The Roadrunners now stand at 19-8 on the year and will wait to hear if they are selected to the ECAC Metro/Upstate Volleyball Championships on Monday afternoon.
 
Ramapo won games two and three in the match as sophomore Larysa Iwaskiw tallied a career-high 40 kills to lead the team.  Iwaskiw hit .341 while she tallied 16 digs, two aces and two blocks. Junior Emily Guzman recorded 11 kills and six digs along with one block while junior Rachel Selmore added 11 kills of her own. Senior Kaitlin Mac Iver dished out a team high 59 assists while she added nine digs, two aces and one block. Junior Natalia Saavedra helped lead the team on defense with 15 digs while sophomore Sarah Mulligan and rookie Kristen Behrens recorded 12 and ten digs respectively. The Roadrunners, who were playing in their 6th NJAC Women's Volleyball Semifinal under head coach Rob Pichardo, hit .230 in the match with 70 kills on 191 attempts with 26 errors. The team also recorded six total blocks and six aces.
 
The Ospreys hit .295 in the match with 66 kills on 173 attempts with 15 errors. The team was led by Macy Schwartz and Lindsay Schuele who each collected 19 kills. Stockton will take on #2 Montclair State University in the Championship match on Saturday. Schwartz hit .586 with 19 kills on 29 attempts and only two errors while Schuele hit .372 with 19 kills on 43 attempts and three errors. Stephanie Kovacs recorded 14 kills while Idi Uffen added nine kills of her own. Uffen also led both teams with three solo blocks and four assisted blocks. Shannon Clark dished out 28 assists and Jessica Ciandella dished out 26 while Clark added 13 digs and three aces. Rebecka Zabilowicz led both teams with a match-high 26 digs on defense.
