Galloway, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team fell to the Ospreys of Richard Stockton College, 41-61 on the road today, falling to 4-9 overall on the year, 0-7 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. With the victory the Ospreys improve to 10-3 overall, 6-1 in conference play.
Richard Stockton led the Roadrunners 22-13 at the half, after shooting 8-33 (24%) from the field, ahead of Ramapo's 4-29 (14%) shooting performance. The Ospreys kept control of the game in the final 20 minutes of play, out shooting Ramapo hitting 15-32 (47%) from the field, ahead of the Roadrunners' 8-21 (38%). Sara Farrell led the Ospreys with 12 points and Lauren Alwan collected ten, as the team went 23-65 (35%) in the win.
Alex Nardoza dished out three assists and grabbed a team high four steals, while Sasha Williams pulled down a team high eight boards. The Ospreys forced 26 Ramapo turnovers in the win, but were out rebounded by Ramapo 41-40.
For Ramapo,
Grace Elliott and
Bintou Berete led the way with eight points each on the day, while
I'india Davenport and
Jina Crawford both added six. Crawford and
Kellie Lane each pulled down six rebounds as the Roadrunners hit a combined 12-50 (24%) from the field in the loss.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, January 14th when they host NJAC rival Rutgers Newark for a 5:30pm tip-off at the Bradley Center.
