Box Score 1 Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team blanked the Bloodhounds of John Jay College, 3-0 today in the opening game of the 2014 President's Cup. With the three goal victory, the Roadrunners open the year at 1-0 overall. John Jay falls to 0-1.
Sophomore
Kevin Monaghan scored what turned out to be the game winner, off a cross from
Andrew Kirshteyn, just 4:36 into the game. The score held until the halftime buzzer where Ramapo held a 12-1 advantage in shots. Andrew Berman made six saves for the Bloodhounds in the net in the first 45 minutes of play.

Dan Boffa to give the Roadrunners a 2-0 advantage, before junior
Rob Shalikar ripped a shot past the John Jay netminder pushing Ramapo ahead, 3-0 with under 14 minutes to play in the game.

Ramapo again out shot John Jay, 7-3, holding a 19-4 advantage for the game. John Jay recorded an additional two saves while
Matthew Hernandez and
Brady O'Connor each touched the ball once in the final half of play. The Roadrunners held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
In the second game of the President's Cup, which featured DeSales University and UMass Dartmouth, the Corsairs posted a 2-1 victory to advance to tomorrow's championship game against the Roadrunners at 3:30pm. DeSales will take on John Jay tomorrow in a consolation match-up at 1pm.
Wes Frebel opened the scoring for DeSales at the 3:13 minute mark, before UMass Dartmouth was issued two penalty kicks at 4:55 and 34:05, where Josh Chao posted two, to give his team a 2-1 advantage. The teams each took four shots in the first half of play. The game went scoreless in the second half, leaving UMass Dartmouth on top, 2-1 at the final buzzer.
DeSales out shot UMass Dartmouth, 10-9 in the complete game, while Luis Carranza of UMass and Colin Sulpizio of DeSales each made two saves.
