Princeton, NJ: Ten Ramapo College student-athletes were honored for their achievements by the New Jersey Athletic Conference on June 1. The 15th Annual NJAC Awards Brunch was hosted at the Hyatt Regency in Princeton. The brunch honored the regular season and tournament team champions along with major awards winners from the 2013-2014 academic year.
Six Roadrunners won seven major sport awards, while four student-athletes won academic awards for their efforts in the classroom during the 2013-2014 year.
Senior Taylor Furman earned Most Outstanding Field Athlete during the women's indoor and outdoor track and field seasons. During the NJAC Indoor Championships she won the weight throw and shot put and during the NJAC Outdoor Championships she won the shot put, discus, and the hammer throw.
Rookie Kevin Diana was named Men's Outdoor Track and Field Rookie of the Year. Diana won the 200-meter dash at the outdoor track and field championships and was a part of the 4x100 meter relay team that captured first place.
Kevin Diana & Taylor FurmanRookie George Sapp was named Men's Basketball Rookie of the Year. Sapp becomes the sixth NJAC Rookie of the Year in program history. He scored 232 points, 9.7 per game and fourth best on the team. He also shot 41% (77-186) from the field and 80% (71-88) from the free throw line.
George SappRookie Roland Gamez was named Men's Indoor Track and Field Rookie of the Year. During the indoor championships, Roland was runner-up in the long jump, triple jump and high jump, while he holds the school record in the long jump, 6.94m (22'9.25").
Senior Reagan Vier was named Women's Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Year. Veir faced 420 shots during her senior season and recorded 154 saves while she started 13 games for the Roadrunners and earned four wins.
Lauren Schmidt & Regan VierJunior Walker Larson was named Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Year. Walker posted a 5-2 win/loss record during the 2014 season along with 41 strikeouts in 52.2 innings pitched. He fired three complete games and recorded a 2.22 ERA.

Walker LarsonFour student-athletes were named to the 2013-2014 New Jersey Athletic All-Academic Squad. Sophomore women's swimmer, Megan Fosko and senior men's swimmer Maciej Maj were named to the NJAC First Team All-Academic Squad. Fosko is majoring in Physical Therapy and holds a 3.94 GPA. Maj earned his degree in Business Administration and finished with a 3.94 GPA. Junior swimmer Derek Schlieman and sophomore women's lacrosse player Lauren Schmidt were named to the NJAC Second Team All-Academic Squad. Schlieman is majoring in Music Production with a 3.84 GPA while Schmidt is a Biology major with a 3.94 GPA.
