COLONIALS SLIP PAST RAMAPO, 6-5

Box Score Danbury, CT:  The Ramapo College baseball team fell to Western Connecticut State University today on the road, 6-5. Ramapo now stands at 20-16-1 overall following the final regular season game of the season.

Ramapo took a, 3-0, lead in the top of the first inning. Jose Garcia came home on Ian Osterman's double down the right field line before John Capuano scored on an infield ground out. Osterman later scored on a wild pitch.

Western Connecticut scored one run in the bottom of the third to come within on, 3-1, before Ramapo added single runs in the fourth and fifth innings. In the fourth inning, Rob DeAngelis ripped a double to right-center before he scored on a sac bunt from Dan McEldowney. In the fifth inning, Joe Venturino led off the inning with a walk before scoring on an infield error to take a, 5-1 lead.

The Colonials scored two run in the sixth and three runs in the seventh to take a, 6-5, lead. They took the lead in the seventh on a two-RBI single from Peter Nanos. 

Mark Doyle (3-2) took the loss for the Roadrunners in relief. Venturino led the team at the plate,  finishing 2-3 with one run scored.
