RAMAPO ADVANCES TO FINALS OF GNAC CHAMPIONSHIP

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's tennis team advances to the finals of the GNAC Championship Tournament, after shutting out conference rival, Rutgers Newark today, 9-0 at the Athletic Center in Mahwah.  With the victory the Roadrunners improve to 11-4 overall while the Scarlet Raiders fall to 5-6.
 
Seniors Evan Clayton and Justin Gerstl earned three points for Ramapo as they won their matches at first and second singles, 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 and 6-1, 6-1 respectively, before teaming up at first doubles to drop the Scarlet Raiders pair, 8-4.  Jacob Khodakov took a win at third singles, dropping Eison DeGuzman, 7-6, 6-0, before Justin Bevilacqua earned a point of his own at fourth singles, dropping Elijah Kim, 6-4, 6-2.  Miles Murphy and John Seaman wrapped up singles action with 6-0, 6-0, and 6-1, 6-0 wins respectively.
 
In the final two doubles match-ups, Khodakov and Bevilacqua posted an 8-3 win at second doubles, and Murphy and Seaman took third singles wrapping up the sweep, 9-0.
 
The Roadrunners will take on the winner of Suffolk and Johnson and Wales, the North Division match-up, on Saturday, April 26th at 2pm in Mahwah for the 2014 GNAC Championship.
