Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's tennis team swept the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers Camden tonight to improve to 6-4 overall on the year. With the loss, Rutgers Camden falls to .500 at 5-5.
Justin Gerstl led the Roadrunners at 1st singles, sweeping Onkar Sing, 6-0, 6-0. He teamed up with
Evan Clayton at 1st doubles to earn an 8-1 win, earning two points for the Roadrunners. Clayton posted his own singles win in the second spot, dropping Terry Long, 7-6, 6-3.
Jacob Khodakov got the win at 3rd singles, 6-2, 6-4, before
Justin Bevilacqua took home a 6-3, 6-0 victory at 4th singles. The fifth singles match-up went to Ramapo's
Miles Murphy. He defeated Aaron Goldenberg, 6-0, 6-2, before
John Seaman wrapped up singles play with a 6-2, 6-0 win in the final singles spot.
Khodakov and Bevilacqua paired up at 2nd doubles to earn a point for Ramapo, as they defeated the Rutgers Camden pair, 8-0, before
Philip Fuster and Murphy rounded out the match with an 8-2 victory at 3rd doubles.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, April 12th, when they host Rutgers Newark for a GNAC Conference match-up at 1pm at the Athletic Center in Mahwah.
