Box Score Flemington, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team opened up the 2014 season with a shutout win, 5-0, over Centenary College today at Diamond Nation. The Cyclones fall to 1-2 overall while the Roadrunners begin the season at 1-0 overall.
Senior
Kevin Lee fired a one-hit shutout over 7.1 innings of work with seven strikeouts and only one walk to earn the victory on the mound. The Roadrunners scored two runs in the first and one run in the fourth, eighth and ninth innings, as they belted out 11 hits in the game.

Jose Garcia led off the game with an infield single before junior
Scott Peschiani drove a double to left field allowing Garcia to come around and touch home plate for Ramapo's first run. Sophomore
Scott Paulus then drove home Peschiani with a sacrifice fly to center field, 2-0.
In the fourth, junior
Kevin Kelly picked up an RBI as Paulus crossed home plate for Ramapo's third run of the game. Junior
Chris Werr's sac fly in the eighth scored sophomore
Joe Venturino to score from third base; he reached on a single to start the inning. In the ninth, Ramapo tacked on their final run of the game when junior
Rich Policastro walked, stole second and advanced to third on a pass ball. Garcia later drove Policastro home with a sac fly to center field, 5-0.
Junior
Walker Larson came into the game in the 7th in relief of Lee. Larson struck out two and did not give up a hit in the final 1.2 innings of game. Garcia, Peschiani and Osterman all collected two hits for the Roadrunners while Venturino, Paulus, Berger, Kelly and senior
John Capuano each recorded one hit.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, March 15th, when they travel to Winter Haven, FL and the Russ Matt Baseball Tournament. Ramapo will take on Gallaudet University at 6:00 PM.
