Alfred, NY: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team wrapped up the 2014 season with a second place finish at the ECAC Championship. The Roadrunners (26-10) fell to #2 Ithaca College, 2-3 (25-15, 22-25, 25-18, 25-27, 7-15). The ECAC Championship was hosted by Alfred State College.
In the Championship match against Ithaca, three Roadrunners tallied double-digit kills. Iwaskiw led the team with 15 kills while
Cathryn Smart and Ward each recorded 11 kills a piece. Guzman tallied nine kills, three digs and three blocks. Ward added five blocks including one solo while Iwaskiw led the team on defense with 25 digs. Mac Iver dished out 47 assists while she posted 14 digs.
Natalia Saavedra posted ten digs and two aces while Dagistanli posted 20 digs and two aces. The team hit .147 in the match and recorded 48 kills and 14 assisted blocks.
Ithaca battled back to defeat the Roadrunners and claim the 2014 ECAC Championship, they faced match point in game four but battled back to defeat Ramapo, 27-25 before taking game five, 15-7. Rylie Bean led the team with 23 kills, hitting .246 in the match. She recorded 17 digs, two aces and one block. Joelle Goldstein added 14 kills while Breanne Tuohy added eight kills of her own. Kayla Gromen dished out a team high 45 assists while Maggie Mutschler led the team on defense with 32 digs. Tuohy led the team with seven blocks. The team hit .155 in the match and recorded 55 kills and 14 blocks. Rylie Bean was named MVP of the Championship.
