Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

WOMEN'S SOCCER BLANKS CSI, 9-0

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's soccer team defeated the College of Staten Island today at the Athletic Center, 9-0. The Roadrunners improve to 3-6-2 overall while the Dolphins drop to 5-5-1 overall.

In just over two minutes of play in the game rookie Nani Vizcaino scored the eventual game winning goal, her sixth of the season to take a 1-0 lead. Juniors Autumn Herring and Nicole Ninomiya assisted on the goal. Ninomiya and Herring teamed up once again on the team's second goal as Ninomiya notched her 8th goal of the season in the 10th minute of play. Junior Kelsey Sutherland scored the next two goals for Ramapo in the 26th and 38th minutes of the game, taking a 4-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Ramapo extended their lead to, 9-0, scoring five more goals against the Dolphins. Ninomiya scored her team leading ninth goal of the season as she broke away from the CSI defense in the 48th minute, 5-0. Rookie Alexus Fuentes collected a rebound off the cross bar and shot it past the keeper for her first goal (49th minute) of the season before she assisted on rookie Amber Hermanns goal in the 58th minute to take a 7-0 lead. sophomore Lauren Laskowski scored her second goal of the year off a pass from junior Alexa Ragusa in the 78th minute before rookie Karina Borda scored the final goal for the Roadrunners in the 89th minute, once again coming from Ragusa for the 9-0 lead.

Rookie Jessica Cusick made three saves in the combined shutout for the Roadrunners. Rookie Taylor Marcialis recorded one save in just over 12 minutes of work while junior Melanie Forenza did not need to make a save in the final nine minutes of the game. Ramapo held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks in the game and a 31-5 edge in shots.

Victoria Donegan made eight saves for the Dolphins while Kristy Colangelo made two saves in the final 20 minutes of play.

Ramapo returns to action when they travel to Rutgers-Camden on Saturday, October 11th for a 1pm NJAC conference game.
