Union, NJ: The Kean University women's volleyball team defeated Ramapo College tonight, 3-0 (26-24, 25-16, 25-21). The Cougars improve to 8-10 overall, and even their NJAC record at 2-2 while the Roadrunners fall to 17-7 overall, 3-1 in the conference.
Ramapo was led by
Rachel Selmore with 14 kills, nine digs and three blocks.
Cathryn Smart posted six kills while
Katelyn Ward tallied five kills and four blocks.
Emily Harris led the team with 16 digs while
Kaitlin Mac Iver dished out a team high 24 assists. Mac Iver also recorded seven digs in the match. The Roadrunners hit .171 as a team while collecting 34 total kills and ten total blocks.
Three Cougars tallied double-digit kills as Kassie Hernandez posted 18 kills and hit .368 in the match. Calli Scheuermann and Aysia Peterson each posted 11 kills. Elizabeth DeGroot led the team with 20 digs while Alana Aranjo dished out a team high 43 assists. Kean hit .273 during the match with 49 total kills and 8 total blocks.
The Roadrunners return to action October 14th when they host NJAC rival Rowan University at 7pm.
