Annandale-on-the-Hudson, NY: The Roadrunner men's tennis team posted a 7-2 win over the Raptors of Bard College tonight to improve to 2-0 overall on the year.
Jacob Khodakov posted a 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) win at first singles over Kevin McDonald of Bard, to give Ramapo a 1-0 lead.
Mike Abelev and
Willen Feygin added 6-1, 6-1 and 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 wins respectively, at second and third singles, to put Ramapo ahead 3-0.
Justin Bevilacqua added a point for Ramapo at fourth singles, 6-3, 6-3, before Bard earned their first point at fifth singles, dropping
Mike Friedman, 7-5, 7-5. It was Bard's Billy Kwon who got on the scoreboard for Bard in the fifth singles position.
Adam Petrovics wrapped up singles action with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Nicholas Georger.
Mike Abelev and Feygin combined efforts at first doubles to earn a point for Ramapo at first doubles, 8-1, before Khodakov and Bevilacqua defeated the Bard pair, 8-2 at second doubles, earning Ramapo's seventh point of the match-up. Bard took the final doubles match-up, wrapping up the night with Ramapo ahead, 7-2.
Ramapo returns to action during the upcoming spring season.
