Box Score Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College field hockey team dropped a 1-3 decision today to the Bulldogs of DeSales University, to fall to 0-2 overall on the year. DeSales gets their first victory of the season improving to 1-2.
DeSales got on the board first at 6:30 into the game when Meryah Harding capitalized on a penalty corner to put the Bulldogs up, 1-0. The score remained until the halftime buzzer where DeSales held an edge in shots, 6-2.
In the second half of play, Rachel Wysocky capitalized on a penalty stroke giving the Bulldogs a 2-0 edge, before Jen Burley posted an unassisted goal of her own at 56:38 to go up, 3-0.
The Roadrunners finally got on the scoreboard at 61:55 when
Nicole Healy posted her second goal of the season to close the gap, 3-1.
Ramapo was unable to overcome the Bulldog's two-goal lead, falling short in non-conference play in Mahwah.
The Bulldogs out shot Ramapo 11-5 in the second half while Becky Rasmuson made two saves in the game.
Alicia Lyons and
Emily Kramer split goaltending duties for the Roadrunners combining for nine saves in the loss.
Ramapo will face off with Western Connecticut University on Wednesday, September 11
th at 4pm at the Athletic Center.
