RAMAPO BOWS OUT OF NCAA TOURNAMENT

Spurr sets new career hits record

Box Score Moosic, PA:  The #6 Ramapo College baseball team fell to #3 Misericordia University today, 2-1, in a NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament elimination game.

The Roadrunners end the season with a 30-16-1 overall record, their 7th season with 30 or more wins in Ramapo history and third straight under Head Coach Rich Martin. Senior Christian Spurr set the new All-Time career hits record at the College with his 223rd hit in the sixth inning. He finishes his career with 224 career hits, most all-time at Ramapo.

Ramapo got on the board with one run in the bottom of the third. Rookie Ryan Rinsky beat out a hit to deep short before back to back bunts were misplayed by the Cougars allowing one run to score. The Roadrunners however could not push across another run as MU retired the next three batters to end the threat, 1-0.

Misericordia would take the lead, 2-1, in the 7th inning when Dylan Mazzo drove in the game-winning run with a pinch-hit single, as the Cougars capitalized on Ramapo errors. Pete Doggett tossed a complete game four-hitter for Misericordia as they advance in the NCAA Tournament to face #2 Keystone College tomorrow at noon.
