New York, NY: The Ramapo College men's tennis team improved to 6-3 overall today as they defeated the York College Cardinals, 8-1 on the road.
Justin Gerstl opened the match-up with a 6-0, 6-2 win at first singles, before
Evan Clayton collected a point for Ramapo at second singles, defeating Iheanyi Agbor, 6-1, 6-2.
Jacob Khodakov and
Matt Giuliari posted wins of their own at third and fourth singles respectively. Khodakov posted a 6-0, 6-1 win and Giuliari went 6-0, 6-1 over the Cardinal. York's lone point came at fifth singles when Andrzej Moczulkski went 7-5, 7-5 over
Xavier Espinosa.
Mark McCormick wrapped up singles action with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep for Ramapo.
Gerstl and Clayton posted a first singles win, 8-0, and Khodakov and Giuliari collected a point for Ramapo at second singles defeating the York pair, 9-7.
Jacob Wyble and McCormick wrapped up the match with an 8-2 win in the final doubles match-up.
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, April 9th when they travel to Bard for a 6pm match-up.
