Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's tennis team swept the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers Newark, 9-0 today to improve to 4-3 overall on the year.
Justin Gerstl opened the match with a 6-4, 6-0 win at first singles, before
Evan Clayton and
Jacob Khodakov posted singles wins of their own, 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-2 respectively.
Miles Murphy defeated Benjamin Lioue, 6-1, 6-2 at fourth singles and
Matt Giuliari went 6-0, 6-1 at fifth singles, before
John Seaman wrapped up singles action with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Herman Leong.
In doubles action, Gerstl and Clayton combined efforts posting an 8-3 win in the opening doubles match-up, before Khodakov and Giuliari went 8-1 in the second doubles spot. Murphy and
Jacob Wyble wrapped up doubles play defeating the Rutgers Newark pair, 8-2, for the 9-0 sweep in Mahwah.
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow when they travel to York College for a 1pm match-up.
