Dave Jacob drove in the eventual game winning run in the top of the fifth inning. With two outs, junior
John Capuano singled to left field before stealing second base. Jacob then ripped a single up the middle allowing Capuano to touch home plate, 1-0.
The Roadrunners got an insurance run in the top of the eighth inning when senior
Christian Spurr blasted his first home run of the year over the left field fence to put Ramapo up, 2-0.
Ramapo held the Golden Eagles the final two at-bats to claim their 17th victory of the season.
Junior
John Radich (1-0) fired a complete game shutout, scattering four hits and striking out two. Ramapo belted out 11 hits in the game as rookie
Ryan Rinsky led the team at the plate going 3-5. Capuano, Spurr and
Kevin Kelly each collected two hits.
#9/14 Ramapo returns to action tomorrow afternoon when they host NJAC rival Montclair State University at 3:30pm.
