Hilton Head, SC: The Ramapo College men's tennis team improved to 2-0 overall today as they defeated Roosevelt University, 9-0.
Justin Gerstl and
Jacob Khodakov earned a point for Ramapo at first doubles, when they defeated the Roosevelt pair, 8-4.
Evan Clayton and
Matt Giuliari teamed up at second doubles posting an 8-4 victory, before
Mark McCormick and
Miles Murphy grabbed a third doubles win, 8-2, to put Ramapo ahead, 3-0 heading into singles action.
Gerstl went 6-4, 6-1 over Matt Kuntzi at first singles, and Clayton posted a 6-2, 6-4 win at second singles over Roosevelt's Jake Cigelnik. Khodakov collected a 6-1, 6-2 singles win and Murphy followed with a 6-2, 6-4 victory, before Giuliari and
John Seaman wrapped up singles play with 6-0, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-0 wins respectively.
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow when they face off with Endicott College at noon.
