Dan LaRocca fired a complete game shutout as the #14 Ramapo College baseball team defeated McDaniel College (7-4), 8-0 today. Ramapo improves to 5-1 overall.
LaRocca led the Roadrunners on the mound with seven strikeouts, firing a two-hitter. Senior
Christian Spurr led the team at the plate, belting out two doubles in two plate appearances with two runs scored and two RBI.
The Roadrunners took a 1-0 lead after the top of the first inning. With runners on first and second, rookie John Venturino placed a perfect sacrifice bunt to move both runners up a base. Junior

Kevin Case was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning before senior
Christian Spurr doubled down the right field line allowing Case to come all the way around and touch home plate. Spurr later scored from third base when he tagged up on sophomore
Zach Carroll's sacrifice fly to center field to take a 3-0 lead.
Ramapo tacked on two runs in the top of the fifth inning. Case came around to score on Spurr's double to center field. Case led off the inning with a single past the third baseman. The bases were loaded with Roadrunners with one out before Venturino recorded a sacrifice fly to center field, plating Spurr to take a 5-0 lead. Ramapo added one run in the sixth when rookie
