Box Score Union, NJ: The Kean University field hockey team shut out Ramapo College today, 6-0, as the Cougars improved to 12-1 overall and 2-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 0-10 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
The Cougars scored two first half goals, both by Julie Knodt. She scored the first goal in the 5th minute of play while she made it 2-0 in the 31st minute of play.
In the second half, Stephanie Rios tallied a goal for the Cougars (56:33) before Stephanie Soares posted a hat-trick with three goals to extend the Kean lead, 6-0.
Cougar goalie, Katie DiCarlo earned the shutout without having to make a save in the game. The Kean defense did not allow the Roadrunners to take a shot in the game.

Alicia Lyons posted 14 saves.
Ramapo returns to action when they travel to Mercy College on October 9th at 4:00pm.
