Box Score Mahwah, NJ:  The William Paterson University men's soccer defeated Ramapo College today at the Athletic Center, 3-0. The Pioneers improve to 6-3-2 overall and 1-2-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners fall to 4-5-1 overall, 1-3 in the conference.

The Pioneers scored two first half goals as Marcus Hackett tallied his fourth goal of the season in the 11th minute while Omar Jallow posted his second goal of the season in the 34th minute of the first half.

The two teams were even in shots in the first half, 8-8 while Ramapo held a slight advantage in corner kicks, 3-1.

In the second half, WPU scored an insurance goal in the 58th minute by Matt Nigro, his fourth of the season to take a 3-0 lead. Ramapo held an 8-5 advantage in shots in the second half and a 5-0 margin in corner kicks.

Mike Diacheysn made nine saves in the game for the Pioneers in the win.

For the Roadrunners, Steve Monaghan and Brian Petrunik split time in the net. Monaghan tallied two save while Petrunik recorded three.

Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, October 5th when they travel to NJAC rival Kean University at 1pm.
