Box Score Pomona, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team fell to NJAC rival Richard Stockton College today, 1-2 in double overtime.
This was the eighth time this season that the Roadrunners have played a game in overtime game. The Ospreys improve to 11-3-2, 6-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners fall to 6-7-2, 2-5 in the conference.
Stockton got on the board in the first half (27:22) as Chris Katona scored off a long pass from Pat Rafferty to take a 1-0 lead. The Roadrunners would score early in the second half to tie the game, 1-1.
Rob Shalikar found the back of the net off a pass from Christian Trujillo in the 58th minute. The Roadrunners nearly took the lead just 35 seconds later as
Luke Giegerich's shot hit the post.
Neither team would score until the Ospreys scored the game winning goal in the second overtime period. Matt Jenne was able to get his head onto a cross from Dominic Nocito off a corner and put it into the back of the net (107:53) for the 2-1 overtime victory for Stockton.
Bob Millar tallied four saves for the Ospreys while Roadrunner goalie,
Brian Petrunik collected nine saves. Stockton held a 27-14 advantage in shots in the game and a 10-3 margin in corner kicks.
The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to Western Connecticut State on Tuesday, October 22nd for a 7pm non-conference game.
