Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College men's swimming team defeated NJAC rival William Paterson University on the road tonight, 178-84. The Roadrunners improve to 5-1 overall, 2-1 in the NJAC while the Pioneers fall to 7-6 overall, 0-3 in the conference.
The 200-yard medley relay team made up of Philip Sokoloff,
Frank Patierno,
Kyle Plucinsky and
Geoff Richter, finished in first place with a time of 1:43.16.
Peter Kellner took home a first place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle when he clocked in at 10:50.81 while the Roadrunners finished 1-2-3 in the 200-yard freestyle.
Brian Henningsen took first place (1:52.68) while Richter placed second (1:52.74) and
Trevor Marshall finished in third (1:54.19).
Ramapo also went 1-2-3 in the 100-yard backstroke. Sokoloff placed first in 55.52 while
James Campbell took home a second place finish (1:00.46) and
Andrew English placed third in 1:00.56. Henningsen took home a first place finish in the 200-yard butterfly (2:12.77) while
Anthony Cusmano placed second in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.56. Richter took home a first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (50.75) while
Maciej Maj placed second in 51.61.
In the 200-yard backstroke, Kellner and Campbell finishing 1-2 with times of 2:09.62 and 2:11.30 respectively. Kellner also took home a first place finish in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:11.96 while Henningsen and Cusmano finished in first (56.14) and second (56.42) place in the 100-yard butterfly. Sokoloff rounded out the individual events with a first place finish in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:06.02. The 400-yard freestyle relay team made up of Kellner, Henningsen,
Charlie May and Marshall placed first in 3:26.88.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday when they host NJAC rival Rowan University. The Roadrunners are dedicating their meet to "Swim for MS". The team will also honor it's senior class prior to the start of the meet.
