Box Score Center Valley, PA:  DeSales University's field hockey team defeated Ramapo College today, 5-1. The Roadrunners open the 2012 season 0-1 while the Bulldogs improve to 2-1 overall.

Ramapo held DeSales off the board until the 28th when Meryah Harding score her second goal of the season off a pass from Jen Burley to put the Bulldogs up 1-0. In the second half, DeSales tacked on two more goals to take a 3-0 lead.

Senior Katie Bruno scored an unassisted goal 46:37 into the game to put the Roadrunners on the board and cut DeSales' lead to 3-1. The Bulldogs scored two more goals to extend their lead, 5-1.

DeSales out shot Ramapo, 29-6. For the Roadrunners, goalie Rebecca Elliott recorded 11 saves.

Ramapo will return to action on Tuesday when they host NJAC rival Montclair State University at 4:00 pm.
