Rob Santaniello led the Ramapo College men's soccer team to a 3-0 New Jersey Athletic Conference victory today over the Lions of the College of New Jersey. With the win the Roadrunners imrpove to 4-2 overall and open the 2012 conference season at 1-0. The Lions fall to 3-4 overall and 0-1 in the NJAC.
The Roadrunners got on the scoreboard first with a goal from Santaniello in the first half and a pair of tallies in the second period by junior
Dave Przybylo and senior
Joseph Kane to register their first NJAC victory.
The Roadrunners got on the board at the 32:41 mark in the opening period when Przybylo sent a through ball from midfield to Santaniello putting away his team-leading sixth goal of the season, and scoring what turned out to be the game winner.
Przybolo took a long pass from
Anthony Pasciolla at the 58:37 mark and slipped a shot past the Lions' net minder for his third goal of the season giving Ramapo a two goal advantage. Kane capped off the scoring with under four minutes remaining after he knocked in a loose ball off of a corner kick. It was Kane's second goal of the season.
TCNJ held a 14-11 advantage in shots in the contest over Ramapo.
TCNJ goalkeeper Matt Fredrick had four saves in the game, while Roadrunner goalie
Brian Petrunik stopped four shots for his second win of 2012.
Ramapo will host New Jersey City University on Wednesday, September 19 in Mahwah, NJ at 4 p.m.
