Box Score Lakewood, NJ: #4 Ramapo College baseball team fell tonight to #1 Keystone College (37-6), 5-4 at the 2012 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament hosted by Kean University at FirstEnergy Park. The Roadrunners (32-14) will now play at 10:00 AM tomorrow morning against #6 Haverford in game nine of the tournament.
The winner of game nine will advance to play in game 12 which is slated to begin tomorrow night at 7:45 PM.
The Roadrunners scored their first run of the game in the top of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. Rookie 
Ian Osterman singled through the left side of the infield allowing sophomore 
John Capuano to score. Capuano drew a one out walk earlier in the inning.
Ramapo would take a 4-0 lead in the top of the seventh as they scored three runs. Junior 
Christian Spurr singled and later scored on Osterman's single to right center field before senior 
Matthew Hancock scored on senior 
Marco Carolla's fielder's choice. Ramapo got their third run of the inning as senior 
Joseph Somma laced a single in the hole to second base as he beat out the throw while Carolla raced home, 4-0.
Keystone would get three runs back in the bottom of the eighth inning to come within one run, 4-3. Esteban Meletiche ripped a two-run triple to right center field before he later scored on a single with no outs. Keystone would win the game in the bottom of the ninth, 5-4. Austin Straub singled to lead off the inning before coming around to score the tying run on a bunt single by Brian Del Rosso. John Comas then laced a two-out single down the right field line allowing the winning run to cross home plate for the 5-4 win.
Ramapo starting pitcher PJ Cerretto struck out ten, his third highest total of the season, and walked only two in seven inning of work. Daniel LaRocca (4-1) would come in for relief, taking the loss as he finished with one strikeout and two runs scored in 1.2 innings of work.
Hancock and Osterman each collected two hits for the Roadrunners as they posted nine hits as a team. Junior 
Dave Jacob tied the Ramapo single season hits record with his 74th hit of the year in the top of the eighth inning with a single up the middle.
