Box Score Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team defeated Baruch College in a non-conference game today at Jeff Maund Field, 22-7. The Roadrunners improve to 21-7 overall while the Bearcats now stand at 17-13 overall.
Baruch got on the board in the top of the first inning for a 1-0 lead before Ramapo came back to tie the game in the bottom half of the inning.
Dave Jacob led off with a single to left field before he moved to second on a infield ground out.
Christian Spurr knocked him home with a single past the short stop. The Roadrunners took the lead with two outs in the inning. With the bases loaded an infield error allowed Spurr to score before Matt Hancock scored on a wild pitch. Lee Rozin's doubled down the left field line to score
Anthony Vinci and
Dan Mauriello to take a 5-1 lead. Ramapo scored seven runs on five hits in the second inning to take a 12-1 lead.
Baruch tacked on three runs in the top of the third inning before Ramapo added one run in the third and fourth innings to extend their lead to 14-4.
Ramapo added three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning highlighted by a two RBI single by
Kevin Case to take a 17-4 lead. The Roadrunners scored five more runs in the game while the Bearcats tacked on another three as Ramapo won, 22-7.
Jacob finished the day going 3-3 at the plate with two runs scored while Spurr was 2-3 with two runs scored and two RBI. Rozins was 2-2 with a team leading five RBI while Vinci knocked in two of his own as he was 1-3 with two runs scored.
Daniel Youngsman earned his first win of the season as he struck out seven over 5.2 innings of work while scattering six hits.
The Roadrunners will return to action when they travel to Mount Saint Vincent on April 17th at 3:30 PM.
