Box Score Hoboken, NJ: The #18/21 Ramapo College baseball team fell on the road to non-conference rival Stevens Institute of Technology today, 12-3. The Roadrunners now stand at 13-3 overall while the Ducks improve to 12-7.
Ramapo jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the top of the first inning.
Dave Jacob singled to lead off the inning and stole second base before
Christian Spurr drove him home with an RBI double.
Matthew Hancock singled up the middle allowing Spurr to cross home plate.
Joseph Somma singled home Hancock later in the inning before Stevens got on the board with one run in the bottom half of the inning, 3-1.
The Ducks would take the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning when they scored eight runs on seven hits highlighted by a grand slam. They added two runs in the seventh inning to take a 11-3 lead before adding a run in the eighth for a 12-3 score.
Ramapo starting pitcher
Mark Delannoy took the loss as he went 4.0 innings pitched. He scattered seven hits while giving up five earned runs and striking out three. The Roadrunners were held to just seven hits in the game.
Ramapo returns to action when they travel to Richard Stockton College on Saturday for a NJAC doubleheader starting at 11:30 AM.
