Box Score Myrtle Beach, SC: The Ramapo College baseball team defeated St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 16-2 at the Cal Ripken Experience. The Roadrunners remain undefeated at 4-0 while the Bears fall to 1-3.
Starting pitcher
Mark Delannoy (1-0) struck out seven and surrendered only three hits over five innings of work to pick up his first win of the season.
Lee Rozins and Matt Hancock led the Roadrunners at the plate, each collecting two hits and two runs scored. Rozins added two walks and one RBI while Hancock posted one RBI.
Chris Werr went 2-3 with three RBI while
Joseph Somma also collected two RBI and one run scored.
Ramapo got on the board in the bottom of the first inning when Somma walked with the bases loaded scoring
Dave Jacob. The Roadrunners scored seven runs on there hits and two Bear errors in the bottom of the second inning to take a 8-0 lead. Rozins walked with the bases loaded before
Christian Spurr recorded a sac fly, plating
Kevin Case. Later in the inning,
Dan Moreno singled home Rozins before Werr singled home
Matthew Hancock and Moreno. The Roadrunners added one run in the fourth, two runs in the fifth and five runs in the eighth.
Ramapo belted out 12 hits in the game while the pitching staff held St. Joseph's to six hits.
Ramapo returns to action when they host John Jay College on March 13th at 3:30 pm.
