Box Score Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision today to the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers Camden in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up at the Athletic Center. With the loss, the Roadrunners fall to 8-7-1 overall, and .500 in the conference at 4-4. Rutgers Camden improves to 13-2-2 overall, 5-2-1 in the conference.
Bobby Foster, a junior defender, gave the Scarlet Raptors the lead at 28:45 off a corner from junior forward Mitch Grotti. The goal was the lone goal of the first half where Rutgers Camden out shot 13-1.
Grant Korten made three first half saves while Mike Randall went untested posting none.
Rookie Mike Ryan put the Scarlet Raptors ahead two goals to none on an unassisted goal under four minutes into the second half before the Roadrunners finally got on the board at 68:01 when
Rob Santaniello capitalized on a penalty kick scoring his 12th goal of the year. Ryan scored an insurance goal for the Scarlet Raptors at 72:55 which held until the final buzzer outlasting Ramapo, 3-1.
Korten finished the game with three saves and Randall recorded one. Rutgers Camden held a slight edge in shots in the second half, 4-3.
Ramapo plays their final regular season game on Wednesday, October 24th when they travel to Montclair State at 7pm.
