Mahwah, NJ: The Rowan University (6-2, 2-0) field hockey team defeated Ramapo (5-2, 0-1), 3-1 today at the Athletic Center to remain undefeated in the NJAC.

The Prof's top scorer, Rachael Dix scored an unassisted goal 10:30 into the first half, her 12th of the year. Julie Cairone added her sixth goal of the season 21 minutes later to go up 2-0.

Katie Bruno got Ramapo on the board when she took a pass from Victoria Ahlers and hit the back of the cage (46:17) to cut the lead to one, 2-1. Rowan would score an insurance goal by Brittany Phillips to go up 3-1 (61:40), she was assisted by Ashley Adams.

Ramapo's Rebecca Elliott tallied 14 saves in the game while Amiee Herbert recorded one defensive save for the Roadrunners.

Jen Goldberg raised her record to 3-0 in goal as she stopped four for the Profs.

Ramapo will return to action on September 28th when they travel to NJAC rival Montclair State University for a 7:00 PM game.
