AHLERS LEADS RAMAPO OVER DESALES, 4-1

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College field hockey team defeated DeSales University today at the Athletic Center, 4-1 to remain undefeated on the year at 4-0. The Bulldogs fall to 0-3.

Rookie Megan Minneci put the Roadrunners on the board 16:29 into the game off a pass from Amanda Barretta for her first goal of the season. Just over two minutes later Victoria Ahlers teamed up with Katie Bruno for her first goal of the game, 2-0 before Barretta ripped a shot into the cage off a corner pass from Jayne Manigrasso.

Manigrasso would earn the assist on Ahlers' second goal of the game (32:40) to go up 4-0. The Roadrunners would get all the scoring they needed in the first half while the Bulldogs scored their first goal of the young season by Sam Lavin late in the second half.

Rebecca Elliott made one save for Ramapo as she saw over 60 minutes of play while Alicia Lyons tallied one save in the final 9:10 of the game.

This is the first time in school history the Roadrunners have opened up the season on a four game winning streak. Ramapo returns to action on September 13th at home when they host Western Connecticut State at 4:00 PM.
