Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's tennis team defeated Rutgers-Newark, 6-3 today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners improve to 4-1 while the Scarlet Raiders fall to 2-4 overall.
Ramapo won two doubles matches heading into singles play to pick up two points. At second doubles,
Matt Giuliari and
Evan Clayton defeated Rob Ramierz and William Cheung, 8-6.
Chad Rochman and
Francis Osolnick shutout Elijah Kim and Nate Kijpatanasilp, 8-0 at third doubles.
Clayton defeated Ramirez at third singles, 6-4, 6-4 before
Matt Giuliari won at fourth singles, 2-6, 7-5, 7-6. Osolnick shut out Kim, 6-0, 6-0 at fourth singles before Doug Gromack won at sixth singles, 6-2 and 6-0.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday when they travel to Bard College at 1:00 pm.
