Mahwah, NJ: Montclair State University's Sean Hille pitched a complete game two-hit shutout as the Red Hawks downed the Ramapo College baseball team, 9-0 today at Jeff Maund Field.
The Red Hawks improve to 11-6, 2-2 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners fall to 15-4, 2-2 in the conference. The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow when they travel to NJAC rival Rowan University at 11:30am.
Hille fired a complete game with eight strikeouts and no walks to improve to 3-1. In the top of the third inning the Red Hawks scored all the runs they would need to take a 2-0 lead. Zach Brown scored on a Jay Bionde single to right field to take a 1-0 lead before Mickey McGraw scored on a pass ball later in the inning.
Montclair added five runs on four hits to take a 7-0 lead in the fourth inning before they added two runs on two hits in the fifth inning, 9-0.
For the Roadrunners,
Lee Rozins and
Robert Ghiretti collected one hit a piece. For Montclair, Bionde finished the game 2-4 with three RBI and one run scored while Jason Chesterman was 2-3 with two runs scored.
