Ewing, NJ: The Ramapo College (0-1, 0-1) men's swim team fell to NJAC rival The College of New Jersey (1-0, 1-0) today on the road, 151-99. This was the season opener for both teams.
The Roadrunners tallied 99 points, the most they have ever scored against TCNJ. The 400-yard freestyle relay team made up of
Johnny Olsson,
Richard Maier,
Maciej Maj and
Andrew English placed second in 3:31.86. Right behind them in the same event was the team made up of
Derek Schlieman,
Nikolas Ablan,
Kyle Plucinsky and
Kevin Landmesser who clocked in at 3:49.11 for third place.
Philip Sokoloff placed second in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:49.98 while
Stephen Fox took second in the 100-yard backstroke in 53.73. In the 200-yard butterfly, Anthony Cusamano and Ablan finished second and third overall with times of 2:18.18 and 2:20.15 respectively. Fox captured second place in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.26 while
Mike Waterhouse clocked in at 22.58 for third place. Skoloff also placed second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:03.74 while
Robert Stein placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Ramapo will return to action when they travel to Drew University on November 5th at 1:00pm.
