Rob Santaniello (Oakland, NJ) led the Ramapo College men's soccer team to a 3-1 victory today over SUNY Old Westbury in non-conference action at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners improve to 5-1 overall with the win while the Panthers even their record at 3-3.
Rookie
Bryan Aguilar (Harrison, NJ) put Ramapo on the board 13:10 into the game as he scored his fourth goal of the season off a pass from Santaniello, before Clementi
scored the eventual game winner when he connected with Santaniello off a corner kick just over twenty minutes into the game.
Darian Bryan made two first half saves for the Panthers heading into the intermission two goals behind the Roadrunners.
In the final 45 minutes of play, Santaniello tallied his team leading tenth goal of the season as he headed a pass by junior
Robert Nalesnik (Wayne, NJ) into the back of the net to go up 3-0. The Panthers would get one goal back as Ugur Kahveci scored late in the second half.
Rookie netminder
Stephen Monaghan (Middletown, NJ) posted seven saves in the victory, four in the second half, securing the victory, 3-1 over Old Westbury. Bryan finished the game with five saves and all three goals against.
Ramapo ripped 19 shots in the game while the Panthers connected on 15. The Roadrunners also held a lead in corner kicks, 9-5.
The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to The College of New Jersey on Saturday for a 1:00 PM match-up to open NJAC play.
