Staten Island, NY: The Ramapo College men's swim team defeated non-conference rival the College of Staten Island, 132-130 today. With the win the Roadrunners improve to 2-2 overall while the Dolphins drop to 1-1-1.
Ramapo came from behind in the final two events of the meet when the 400-yard freestyle relay team went 1-2 picking up 15 points for the Roadrunners.
Geoff Richter,
Johnny Olsson,
Terry Hubert and
Nikolas Ablan finished in first place with a time of 3:38.75. The team made up of
David Nehls,
Mike Waterhouse,
Kyle Plucinsky and
Derek Schlieman grabbed a second place finish in 3:46.82.
The 200-yard medley relay team made up of
Andrew English,
Richard Maier,
Alex DeVries and Hubert placed second (1:46.00) while
Alex Krueger, Plucinsky, Ablan and
Cortland Schroth took third in 1:50.25.
Ramapo took 2-4th places in the 1,000-yard freestyle as Schlieman placed second (11:35.97) and Richter and
Matt Hagaman took third (12:40.00) and fourth (13:02.90) respectively. Olsson (51.23), Waterhouse (52.09) and Maj Maciej (55.44) took home first through third place finishes in the 100-yard freestyle.
The Roadrunners return to action when they host New Jersey Institute of Technology on December 4th at 2:00 PM.
