Mahwah, NJ: The Hawks of SUNY New Paltz defeated the Ramapo College swim team today at the Adele and Thomas Ruben Swimming Pool. The Roadrunners stand at 1-2 overall while the Hawks now stand at 2-1 on the season.
The 400-yard medley relay team made up of
Stephen Fox,
David Nehls,
Alex DeVries and
Johnny Olsson came in first place with a time of 3:43.28.
Geoff Richter took home two second place finishes in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:52.97) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.85). Fox placed first in the 100-yard backstroke in 57.47 while
Richard Maier placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:03.59.
DeVries took home a first place finish, 2:03.89, in the 200-yard butterfly while
Andrew English took third in 2:13.14. Fox out touched the Hawks in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.30 while
Mike Waterhouse placed second in the 100-yard freestyle in 50.33. Fox grabbed a first place finish in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:03.86 and Nehls placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:22.54.
In the 100-yard butterfly, the Roadrunners took the top three spots. Hubert clocked in at 54.41 while DeVries placed second (55.06) and Waterhouse in third (55.32).
The Roadrunners return to action on November 20th when they travel to the College of Staten Island for a 2pm meet.
