KEAN ADVANCES IN NJAC TOURNEY

Mahwah, NJ:  With a 1-0 victory over Ramapo, the Cougars of Kean University advance to the semi-final round of the 2010 New Jersey Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Tournament.  Kean (9-10-2) will face off with the #2 seeded Pioneers of WIlliam Paterson University on Tuesday evening at 7pm in Wayne, NJ.  Ramapo wraps up the 2010 season standing at 11-3-4 overall.

For just over 88 minutes, the two teams played scoreless soccer with the Roadrunners holding an edge in shots, 11-7, and corner kicks, 4-2.  At 88:13, Kharee Winslow (Piscataway, NJ) capitalized on a free kick opportunity just outside the 18-yard box to put the Cougars ahead, 1-0 with under two minutes to play.

On a quick restart, the Roadrunners had one of their best opportunities of the game but a blasted ball over the top of the net put the ball back in Kean's possession.  The Cougars ate away the rest of the clock earning the one goal victory today in Mahwah.

Senior netminder Brad Stockon (Toms River, NJ) made three saves on the day and Tyler Callahan (Landisville, NJ) made four of his own earning the shut out.
