Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College field hockey team blanked the Colonials of Western Connecticut, 6-0 today at the Athletic Center to improve to .500 standing at 3-3 overall on the year. Western Connecticut falls to 1-5 overall.

Victoria Ahlers (Freehold, NJ) took a pass from sophomore
Jayne Manigrasso (Atlantic Highlands, NJ) and ripped a shot past the Western Connecticut goalkeeper to put Ramapo up, 1-0 just under four minutes into the game. Just about five minutes later, Ahlers struck again to give her team a two goal lead before Manigrasso put away two goals of her own, leading her team into the intermission with a 4-0 lead over the Colonials. Mackenzie Cahill (Pompton Plains, NJ) earned the assist on the final goal of the half.
Ramapo edged Western Connecticut, 7-0 in shots in the first 35 minutes and Heather Stone (Valhalla, NY) made two saves for the Colonials.
In the final 35 minutes of the game, the Roadrunners held the Colonials to just one shot, and ripped six more themselves, capitalizing on two, to take the game, 6-0 in the non-conference match-up. Junior
Kimberly Raimondi (Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ) recorded her third and fourth goals of the season at 51:22 and 59:39 off assists from
Caroline Speakman (Cherry Hill, NJ) and Ahlers respectively.
Stone finished the day with six total saves and
Megan Tierney (Wayne, NJ) earned the shut out in the full 70 minutes recording one save with no goals against.
The Roadrunners travel to Manhattanville this weekend when they face off with the Valiants on Saturday, September 19th at two in the afternoon.
