Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team fell to the Profs from Rowan University today at Jeff Maund Field. The Roadrunners fall to 10-11overall, 3-4 in the NJAC while the Profs improve to 16-8-1 and 5-4 in the conference.
Senior
David Deredita (Clark, NJ) walked and rookie
Kevin Knox (Matawan, NJ) ripped a double down the left field line to put runners at second and third. With two outs Deredita scored on a wild pitch before senior
Tim Gaven (Union, NJ) poked a single into left field scoring Knox for a 2-0 lead. They tacked another run on in the second inning when junior
Joey Cacchiola (Union, NJ) singled home Deredita who singled earlier in the inning.
Rowan got three back in the fourth inning when senior Tom Ready (Blackwood, NJ) singled to center field before an error allowed junior Pete Delleani (Manalapan, NJ) to reach base before senior John McMullin (Woodbury, NJ) lined a single to center field to plate Ready. The Profs would tie the game when Delleani and McMullian came around to score on a pass ball, 3-3.

Pete Sita (Bayonne, NJ) ripped a single into right field before senior
Gino Gallagher (Cedar Grove, NJ) was hit by a pitch to load the bases for the Roadrunners with only one out. Rowan was able to get out of the jam after a pitching change, inducing a pop out and line out to right field. The Profs then took the lead in the top of the sixth inning when junior Matt Johanson (Sewell, NJ) ripped a home run that hooked around the left field foul pole to put Rowan up 4-3. Rowan took a 6-3 lead in the seventh inning, junior Pete Reindel (Flemington, NJ) ripped a double to right field plating Magliaro who reached on an error before McMullin picked up an RBI with a line out to center field plating Reindel.
Senior
Mike Manges (Glen Rock, NJ) hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to close the gap at 6-4. Rowan got one back in the ninth when McMullin drove home Ready with a single to center field.
For the Profs Reindel was 2-5 with one run scored and one RBI while Ready was 2-3 with two runs scored and McMullin was 2-5 with one run scored and three RBI. Senior Carl Taylor picked up the win with three innings of relief, he improves to 1-2 on the season.
Rookie
Matt Jenisch (Pompton Plains, NJ) took the loss for Ramapo. He struck out three and walked two in 2.1 innings of relief. Dimperio was 2-4 while Gaven and Manges were each 1-4 with one run scored and one RBI. Knox was 2-4 with one run scored.
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow when they travel to NJAC rival the College of NJ for a 3:30 start.
