GLASSBORO, NJ – The Ramapo College baseball team came back to win 9-7 over Rowan University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Thursday.
The Roadrunners trailed 6-4 going into the top of the eighth inning. Pinch hitter Daniel Mauriello (fr. Monroe, NY/Monroe Woodbury) singled in left fielder
Joey Cacchiola (jr. Union, NJ/Union) and pinch hitter/left fielder
Joseph Della Serra (fr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) came home on the throw after the hit. Pinch hitter/right fielder
Joseph Somma (so. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) had a RBI double that scored Mauriello.
Ramapo tacked on two more runs in the ninth to lead 9-6. Third baseman
David Deredita (sr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) led off with a double and advanced to third on a ground out. He crossed the plate on a wild pitch. Center fielder
Mike Manges (sr. Glen Rock, NJ/Paramus Catholic) plated Cacchiola with a double. Rowan scored one run in the bottom half. First baseman Tom Ready (sr. Blackwood, NJ/Triton Reg.) doubled home catcher Tom Reindel (sr. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central).

Gino Gallagher (sr. Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar) compiled three RBIs and a home run for the Roadrunners. First baseman
Peter Sita (jr. Bayonne, NJ/Hudson Catholic) contributed with two hits (five at bats) and Deredita scored two runs. Cacchiola was two for four with two runs scored. He also pitched the last two innings for his second save. Right-hander
John Guagliardo (so. Staten Ilsand, NY/St. Joseph by the Sea) was the winning pitcher in relief.
Ramapo improves to 9-8 overall and 2-1 in the conference. Rowan has a 12-7-1 record and a 2-3 NJAC mark. For the Profs, Ready compiled three hits (five at bats), three RBIs, two runs scored, two doubles and a home run. Second baseman Pete Delleani (jr. Manalapan, NJ/ Christian Brothers Academy) was two for four with two RBIs, one run scored and a double. Third baseman Brad Woodend (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) added two hits (four at bats) and one run scored.
Rowan had a 2-0 lead after scoring one run in the first and second innings. With two outs, Ready had a solo home run to left center field. In the second, designated hitter Matt Johanson (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) had a solo shot also to left center field. It was the second homer for Ready on the season and the first for Johanson.
Ramapo came back with three runs in the top of the third. Gallagher recorded a three run home run to right center field. After the fourth inning, the Roadrunners were ahead 4-2. Shortstop

The Profs trailed 4-3 after one run in the fifth. Woodend got on with a walk and rounded the bases on Ready's double. Rowan took the lead 6-4 with three runs in the seventh inning. Delleani plated shortstop David Lenig (jr. Pennsville, NJ/Pennsville) and Ready with a double. Right fielder John McMullin (sr. Woodbury, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) singled home Delleani.
