ROADRUNNERS BLANK LEHMAN, 3-0 AND 11-0

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team swept a non-conference double header from Lehman College today at Jeff Maund Field. The Roadrunners even their record to 12-12 overall while Lehman drops to 4-17.

In game one, senior Tim Gaven (Union, NJ) ripped a single up the middle to score senior Mike Manges (Glen Rock, NJ) who doubled and moved to third on a ground out to put the Roadrunners up 1-0 after two innings of play. Ramapo tacked on one run in the fourth inning when Gaven recorded a sacrifice bunt to score Manges from third; he then came home on a wild pitch in the sixth inning for a 3-0 lead.

Junior Jack McDonough (Cranford, NJ) started the game and earned the win (2-1) as he struck out six and walked none over three innings of work. Antonio Imbimbo (Wayne, NJ) would come in for relief as he struck out seven over the final four innings without surrendering a walk and only giving up one hit.

Ramapo recorded three hits in the game, Gaven, Manges and rookie Jeremy Paster (Marlboro, NJ) each collected a hit while Manges scored all three runs in the game.

In game two, the Roadrunners got on the board in the bottom of the first inning when junior Pete Sita (Bayonne, NJ) ripped a bases loaded single to left field scoring junior John McGuckin (Bayonne, NJ) who singled to right field and senior Gino Gallagher (Cedar Grove, NJ) who walked earlier in the inning. Ramapo would score three more runs in the inning to take a 5-0 lead.

The Roadrunners would score five more runs in the second inning highlighted by sophomore Mike McGuckin's (Bayonne, NJ) two RBI single. They tacked on one more run in the fourth to take a 11-0 lead. The game would get called after the sixth inning due to darkness.

Junior Joseph DeHart (Toms River, NJ) picked up his first win of the season, he struck out two and walked none. Sita was 2-2 with two runs scored and 2 RBI while Manges was 1-2 with 2 RBI.

The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to John Jay College on April 15th for a 3:30 PM start
