Winter Haven, FL: The Ramapo College baseball team was held to five hits in a 5-0 loss to Suffolk College today to fall to 5-3 overall.
The Roadrunners let Suffolk off the hook in the first inning, loading the bases with zero outs, but not pushing a run across. It was smooth sailing the rest of the way for Suffolk, as they picked up single runs in the second, third, and fifth innings, and two in the seventh against Roadrunner starter
Antonio Imbimbo (Wayne, NJ). Imbimbo gave way to
Dave Cahoon (Haskell, NJ) in the seventh, who shut Suffolk down the rest of the way.
Imbimbo gave up five runs on the day, just three earned.
Joseph Somma (Toms River, NJ) tallied two of the Roadrunner hits, while
David Deredita (Clark, NJ),
Justin Leon (New City, NY), and
Joey Cacchiola (Union, NJ) cracked a single a piece.
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow against Edgewood College at 2:30 pm.
