New York, NY: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team took home two non-conference victories on the road today. Ramapo now stands at 15-4 overall.
They defeated Polytechnic 3-2 (25-27, 25-18, 25-19, 19-25, 15-9) and in the second match they downed John Jay, 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-16).
In the first match the Roadrunners were led by sophomore
Kayla Anders (Harrington Park, NJ) with 18 kills and four blocks. Sophomore
Kaitlin Smith (Westwood, NJ) posted 12 kills and four blocks. Sophomore setter
Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) dished out 53 assists in the match.
As a team, Ramapo pounded out 59 kills while recording five service aces.
In their second match of the day Smith led Ramapo with 12 kills on 13 attempts while Anders recorded six kills. Fischer dished out 33 assists while rookie
Hailey Jester (Kinnelon, NJ) posted seven kills.
Ramapo posted 14 service aces in the game.
The Roadrunners return to action when they host Lehman College at 7:00 PM.
