Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team, behind rookie
Frank Vogas (Clifton, NJ), earned their second win of the 2008 season today over the Bloodhounds of John Jay College, 5-0. The Roadrunners improve to 2-0 on the year and return to action on Wednesday, September 3rd when they travel to FDU-Florham for a 3:30 PM match-up. John Jay opens the year at 0-1.
Sophomore
Giuseppe Nicola Trani (Wayne, NJ) put one in the back of the net at 19:19 off a cross from Vogas before Vogas earned one of his own just under the 39-minute mark. Vogas's goal was assisted by
Benjamin Eggart (Paterson, NJ) at 38:36, to go up 2-0 heading into the intermission.
Sophomore
Jon Chiles (Montclair, NJ) netted his first collegiate goal at the start of the second half (53:13) before Vogas struck again just over one minute later to give the Roadrunners a 4-0 advantage.
Francis Carr (Monroe Twp., NJ) scored the final goal of the game at 63:24.
Junior
Ian Tighe (Wyckoff, NJ) blocked one shot in 61:02 in the front of the net before
Brad Stockton (Toms River, NJ) wrapped up the final minutes of the game for the Roadrunners.
Ramapo out shot John Jay, 20-2. Christopher Adao (Colonia, NJ) and Kemar Brown (Kingston, Jamaica) split time in front of the net for the Bloodhounds combining for seven saves. Adao let up four goals while Brown let up one.
